Rawsons Electrical maintains a fleet of 25 fully-equipped vans operating in the Adelaide metropolitan area every day. We are wholly owned and operated locally, and so we have an unrivalled understanding of the needs of Adelaide business and the wider community. Being local also means you can count on quick response times, and getting an electrician on site when you need them. We also service our country and interstate clients by arrangement, with comprehensive electrical solutions that can meet all of your electrical installation, maintenance and repair needs.

History

Rawsons Electrical celebrates 75 years of service, during which time we have grown to be one of the largest and best-known electrical companies in South Australia.

1946

Rawsons Electrical is established in 1946 by Ken and Don Rawson with the aim of building one of the premier electrical contracting companies in Adelaide.

1967

Rawsons Electrical’s expansion means that it moves from being based at Ken’s home in Glenelg to larger premises at Pleasant Avenue in Plympton.

1983

Rawsons Electrical opens its current premises on Cross Road.

1985

In 1985, Rawsons Electrical opens a European appliance sales and service centre, operating today as Rawsons Appliances.

1986

A 2nd generation member of the Rawson family, Robert Rawson, becomes General Manager of Rawsons Electrical.

1989

Rawsons Electrical becomes the Mitsubishi Electric authorised automation distributor for South Australia. The product range grows to include variable speed drives, human machine interface (HMI) terminals, and servo systems.

1993

The main warehouse is expanded.

2012

A 3rd generation member of the Rawsons family, Toby Rawson, becomes General Manager of Rawsons Electrical.

2018

Rawsons Appliances purchases the premises next door and converts it to a bathroom and Weber showroom.

2021

Rawsons Electrical has now grown to such an extent that we have more than 50 people employed within the electrical division.
